Recently I heard someone in Court say that, “Divorce is a traumatic experience and it is important to take the time and proper steps to heal in a healthy way.” Although everyone copes, mourns and progresses in their own way, it is important to acknowledge that divorce is a life altering event and should be treated as such.
I have had several clients rely on therapy to help cope with the emotions that come with a divorce but sometimes this is not always beneficial for someone or an option due to finances. So I started to make a list of books that I have read or have been recommended by someone who has gone through a divorce and thought they were beneficial, and started to make a list so that I could recommend to clients when appropriate.
In no particular order:
Putting Children First
Co-Parenting with a Toxic Ex
Will I ever be free of you?
Too Good to Leave, Too Bad to Stay
Divorce: Think Financially, Not Emotionally
As every relationship is different, every divorce is different and it is best to seek the help that you think is necessary for you and your family. Although I only mention several books, there are numerous books out there on varying topics related to divorce that could be beneficial.
